Sea, sand and sunburn......

My wonderful sister and brother in law, along with some friends, invited us to go and enjoy their stunning, family beach house in Hermanus over the weekend. Frederik's mother is absolutely a wonder at interior design, as you will see from the photos just how beautiful she has made this beach retreat.

We had the best time laying on the beach, braaing and applying aloe vera to Gabe as he now realizes the importance of sun screen!  This place, in particular, happens to be one of our favorite places in South Africa and Gabe and I always make sure we plan a few days here.  From the quaint little town to the magnificent beaches, this seaside town just can't be beat!  This town also offers the best land-based whale watching in the world!  Enjoy!

Ok, so to start out with this post I have to say that Carin and I have been enjoying our time so much that we have really let the ball down on blogging.  We always have great intentions, but when you get to a location as beautiful as this, you just seem to forget about work and you just want to soak it all in and relax and that is exactly what we have been doing for the last few weeks!  Anyways...

Since we have been in South Africa, we have had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people. Some of those amazing people happen to be Willie Brown and his family who are Arabian horse breeders in the Simondium Valley.  They started breeding these horses over 10 years ago and have been selling them internationally ever since.  We were so happy to try our hand at photographing some of their beautiful horses at their farm.  This horse featured in this shoot is the beautiful Alihandro, who will be sent to Italy to train for some European shows later this year.
